My
research focuses on understanding nuclear structure properties in
various regions of the nuclear chart through the construction and
exploitation of novel experimental detector setups. I am primarily
interested in heavy and super-heavy nuclear systems as well as
lighter nuclei close to the proton drip line. The investigation of
the single-particle and collective character of these systems allows
us to study several phenomena spanning from the interaction of
nucleons within the nucleus to the creation of elements in the
universe.
Main
instrumentation projects:
The
MARA-LEB facility at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, which
will be used in the investigation of nuclei close to the proton drip
line through mass measurements and laser ionisation spectroscopy.
The SAGE and SPEDE spectrometers which allow the simultaneous
detection of conversion electrons and γ
rays with stable and radioactive ion beams, respectively.
I am
also involved in several other projects in CERN, Jyväskylä, GSI and
Ganil.
